LetsRun Shutterbug has posted over 50 photos from Sunday’s New York Junior League Mother’s Day Races to flickr.
The weather was perfect for the 5,707 runners who finished the Run as One this morning in Central Park. The race was won by Worku Beyi, with Demesse Tefera directly behind him, both from Westchester Track Club. The first place female finisher was Alemtsehay Misganaw, also from WTC. 6,575 runners finished the adidas Run for the Parks this morning in Central Park. The weather was excellent, especially compared to last year’s Run for the Parks. Results have been posted to NYRR.org and photos are available at the NYC Running Blog Photo Gallery.

There was a great turn out at the Scotland Run 10K this morning, making the course somewhat crowded for the first mile. Runners disregarded the neon ribbon that was meant to keep them within the recreation lane of the West Drive of Central Park. According to the race results, there were 5,717 finishers, an increase of about 11% over last year’s Scotland Run. The weather was cloudy and there were a few light sprinkles now and then. Susan Loken has won the 2007 More Marathon, making it her third win in a row for this race. Her official time was 2:47:52, a little over two minutes slower than her course record-breaking 2005 run of the More Marathon. Trina Painter and Lyubov Denisova won the Half-Marathon. New Yorker Anthony Famiglietti finished first in the 2007 USA Men’s 8K Championship this morning with a time of 22:35 with Abdi Abdirahman following close behind with a time of 22:41. Click the image to the right to see photos from the race. NYRR has posted results from the race.
Although the race was changed to an unscored fun run, there was a good showing this morning at the NYRR 8000. Runners reported very icy conditions along the cource. One runner said that there was “solid ice” all along Cat Hill on the East Drive. Click the image to the left to see the NYC Running Blog gallery from the run.
New York Road Runners has posted the following information to their website regarding the NYRR 8000 and USA Men’s 8K Championships:
