According to Brandweek, the male and female winners of the 2007 New York City Marathon will each win a new Toyota Prius, a popular hybrid electric vehicle. This is part of a new three-year sponsorship deal between Toyota and the marathon.

Nike has a few more ways to get entry into the NYC Half-Marathon. While the information is somewhat vague, it seems that the basic idea is that the more you run the Nike training runs, try their shoes, use Nike+, log a run with the runner’s station or bring a friend to a training run, the more of a chance you have at getting entry into the race in August.

The New York City JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge will be taking place tonight and tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. in Central Park. The organizers expect around 15,000 participants on each night of the race.

The weather tomorrow should be warm and possibly cloudy for the WABC Father’s Day Fight Against Prostate Cancer 5-mile in Central Park. The race starts and ends on the West Drive of Central Park and there will be a raffle drawing after the race. WABC will be airing the race between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m on channel 7.
NYRR will be posting the results for the NYC Marathon registration lottery for United States residents. A record of 98,000 people total worldwide have applied to the NYC Marathon this year.
This Saturday, June 9th is the NYRR New York Mini 10K, a women’s race that takes place in Central Park. When it was first run in the Summer of 1972, it was the world’s first women only road race. Among other notable elite athletes planning on running this year’s race is Jelena Prokopcuka, 2005 and 2006 NYC Marathon winner.
According to StreetsBlog, the newly-appointed NYC Transportation Commissioner, Jannette Sadik-Khan, is considering a summertime trial of a car-free Central Park.
Besides the NYRR Race, Japan Day @ Central Park 4 Mile this Sunday, there is also The Riverdale Ramble 10K in the Bronx, which is organized by Van Cortlandt Track Club. According to The National Weather Service Forecast, most of the weekend will be cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
