NYRR Al Gordon Snowflake 4-Mile Race Report
Despite the wind and frigid temperature, 2,260 men and 2,249 women completed the NYRR Al Gordon Snowflake 4-mile in Central Park yesterday. Overall, there was a 4.7% attendance drop compared to the 2006 NYRR Al Gordon Snowflake 4-mile (which was about 6 degrees warmer). For the men, the average pace was 8:02 min./mile and the median pace was 7:56 min./mile. For the women, the average pace was 9:32 min./mile and the median pace was 9:19 min./mile. Runners seemed to enjoy the course, including the downhill finish on the East Drive at 98th Street, which gave them an extra bit of speed at the end.
